President's 2008 Message

Hello fellow woodworkers,
Well it’s the start of a new year. This last year was very successful and went by fast. I don’t plan too many changes for the new year. I hope with member participation this can be another successful year.
We had a very successful year with the toy projects last year under the direction of Ken Koepp and I hope you will give Jay Chandlier (this years Toy Project Director) the same huge support. In addition to the toys for Christmas the toy teams are for members to learn woodworking skills and they are an excellent place to learn.
WW PROJECTS - Director Ken MacNeill - These projects vary through out the year and although we don’t want to overload members they are also excellent areas to learn wood working skills as well as good PR for the club. The club has been given space in the display cabinet in the woodlands auditorium at various times next year which will also be good PR.
For the coming year I would like to increase our membership (must continue to grow) so you can help by talking to your friends and neighbors and create an interest. I would like to increase attendance at the shop visits so if you have any suggestions the board would appreciate them. I would also like to have a field trip or two during the year; so again any suggestions and help on this item would be appreciated.
This year should be another busy year. Hope for your continued support and see you at the meetings.
Richard W. McGuire
President
